Victory Over Your Battle

Whenever you are faced with any battle in your life...only you know what that is for you....what do you do?  Well, what you should do is go to the Lord and talk to Him about it.  Cry out to the Lord....tell Him what you need....and ask Him for His help.  If it's temptation you are fighting....ask Him to help you overcome it.  If your body needs healing....ask Him to heal you or show you where to go to get the healthcare you need.  If you are fighting depression....ask Him to help you overcome the powers of darkness....satan....that are trying to take over your mind.  What ever the battle in your life is....cry out to the Lord for His help.

In 2 Chronicles 20 Jehoshaphat prayed to the Lord and asked Him to stop the army that was going to come against them. It was a mighty army and they felt they were powerless against them.  They knew without the Lords help they would surely lose.  The Lord spoke back to Jehoshaphat and all the people there and this is what He said....

2 Chronicles 20:15-17

15 He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

Wow!  Did you read that?  First He says...."Don't be discouraged for the battle is not yours, but God's."

Isn't that how we are?  We become afraid....discouraged....overwhelmed....because our battle looks too big for us.  We can only see things through our eyes and it looks like a big army is ready to overtake us.  But....we need to remember we aren't fighting this battle on our own.  We have the Lord with us!

Then the Lord says "....then stand still and watch the Lord's victory. He is with you.....  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  ....for the Lord is with you!"

Sometimes it's hard to not get discouraged.  When you feel that coming on think back to all the times the Lord has helped you in the pastThank Him for those times and for what He is doing for you now!

Then Jehoshaphat told his army to do this....

20 Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”
21 After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang:
“Give thanks to the Lord;
    his faithful love endures forever!”

If you read on you will see that the Lord caused the armies, that they were going out to fight, to turn against each other.  When Jehoshaphat and his men arrived they found them all dead.  The Lord had given them victory over their battle!

He wants to give you victory over your battle today as well.  He can destroy whatever is coming against you!  Talk to the Lord and ask Him to help you with your battle.  He will see you through it just like He did Jehoshaphat and his army.  Stand strong in the Lord!  He's got you in His hand!

"until we see Jesus....face to face"

  1. Hi Chelle. Great truth you shared with us. In my life I think of many times when I did not cry out, just went out on my own. This is not good. Thank you for sharing and blessings. Ken
