Call Out To Jesus

All of the time the Lord is good.  But there are times when He works....and helps ways that let us know how much He really cares about everything we are going through.  Today was one of those times for me.  In about a month it will be a year since my back surgery.  Things haven't went how I expected them to go.  There have been setbacks that I really wasn't expecting to happen.  But....I know God is in control through it all.  With that said there are things that I need to do to improve.  Exercise is the main thing but it seems I am limited as to what that is.  So I decided to start walking outside again.  Today the weather is great for that....

About a hundred yards into my walk I started thinking that this idea might not have been a real good one.  The people walking with me were up ahead quite a bit and if you know me at all you know I don't like to lose and I don't like to admit defeat! Yes....I can be quite stubborn.  Well....stubborn wasn't getting me any closer to catching up.  Seeing how far behind I was I then came to the first little hill.  OH....this was not good.  All the painful places were telling me there was no way I was getting to the top!  And then it hit me....

What should we always do when we need help with something that is just overwhelming to us?  Call out to JESUS!  And let me tell you that is just what I did!  The best part of this adventure was....JESUS answered me.  Now let me tell you I didn't run to the top but I did make it to the top and then kept on going.  I prayed and asked for help quite a bit of the way.  When you get to the end of this trail you have a choice....cross the road to another trail or turn around and go back.  We turned and went back since that was the closest way.  The thing about that is....the hill is there going back as well.  The second time up the hill was a little easier but only because I was already praying.  The side you go back on is steeper going up and going down....but Because of JESUS I made it again!  I was quite happy when I walked into the house!  It was only about half a mile that we walked but it was half a mile with JESUS walking with me and HE made it worth it!

JESUS helped....stubborn didn't!

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Walking probably isn't a problem for most of you but I'm sure there are things in your life that you need help with as well.  When you can't do it on your own....Call out to JESUS!  HE will help you to get through what ever it is.

"until we see JESUS....face to face"

  1. I wish I was your walking buddy!
You are a better person than I am...I would have prayed God slowed the rest of the group down...LOL!
I find Jeff always walking ahead of me now...and it used to be the other way around. I am constantly asking him to slow his pace...This is humbling, to say the least.
I look outside and dream of walking the trails again...but I know the reality is I will need this prayer you have shared to make it even a fraction of the way now.
Jeff and I joke about going for a hike and having to leave me out there somewhere until I regain strength to come back home...But it will not always be this way for me or for will heal and gain strength as you takes time.
    Blessings and love, Sister~ Lisa

  2. Sweet!! Praise Jesus!! I am so happy that you made this mile stone with the help of Jesus. :) I know just how painful that walk can be and you did it! I'm so proud of you for calling out to Jesus and walking with Him. Next time have some good upbeat worship music on your ipod, (if you have one), and walk to that. It then can be so easy to lose track of time and pain.

    Praying and rejoicing!

  3. Amen to what you have said Chelle. When we call out to Jesus He will come to us, and always confirm what He does with His word. Hold fast to what He says to you, and He will bring you through this.
    God bless.
